This was one of the very first complete portraits I painted in oils, back in 2023. I’d been really inspired by the work of J.W. Waterhouse and wanted to try creating something with that same Pre-Raphaelite feel of soft, romantic, and a bit mysterious.

This piece was a big step for me at the time, having been mainly a digital artist until this point I was figuring out how to work with oils, how to build up light and softness in the face, and how to suggest a mood without over-explaining it. Looking back, it feels like the beginning of something which i hope developes more and more.
