This painting started as a bit of an experiment with colour, texture, and a slightly stylised approach. It became a quiet study in contrast and control.

I like to think that its a depiction of balance, there’s a tension in that gesture, like something could drop or shift at any moment, and I liked sitting in that space while painting it.
